Our experience with Nicole at Bullgodz was wonderful from beginning to end. We came into this process after a heartbreaking experience with our previous breeder and the unexpected loss of our bulldog, Winnie. Winnie had hip dysplasia and an undiagnosed elongated soft palate that affected her breathing. Tragically, we lost her following anesthesia for her spay before she even reached her first birthday. The experience was devastating for our entire family. Because of what happened with Winnie, we were understandably nervous and extremely cautious about choosing another English bulldog and breeder. We had many questions about health, bloodlines, breathing, orthopedic and hereditary conditions, and how the puppies were raised. Nicole understood why we were concerned and never made us feel difficult, overly cautious, or rushed. She was patient, responsive, and transparent, and she took the time to answer our questions throughout the entire process. Before we brought Pepper home, Nicole kept us informed and helped us feel confident in our decision. It was evident through our conversations, as well as her website and social media, that her dogs and puppies are genuinely loved and cared for. That reassurance meant more to our family than she probably realized after everything we had experienced with Winnie and our previous breeder. Nicole also made sure we had everything we needed to help Pepper transition into our home. She sent us home with food, new toys, copies of all our documents, and a discount code for supplements. She also included special litter-specific items, including toys and a blanket that had been with Pepper’s litter and carried the familiar scents of her mother and littermates. That was such a thoughtful touch and helped Pepper have something familiar and comforting as she adjusted to her new family. We have now had Pepper home for only four days, and we are already incredibly impressed with her. She came to us mostly trained to use pee pads, and she is already beginning to let us know when she needs to go outside to potty. At such a young age and after such a short time in a completely new home, that is remarkable. It reflects the time, consistency, attention, and care Nicole gave her before she ever came home with us. My advice to anyone considering an English bulldog is not to be afraid of waiting. Nicole’s waitlist may be long, but waiting for a puppy from an ethical, responsible breeder is far better than rushing to a breeder simply because puppies are immediately available. A waitlist is often a good sign. It means the breeder is thoughtful about when and how often dogs are bred and is not producing puppies just to meet demand. After our experience, we firmly believe the right puppy from the right breeder is worth the wait. Pepper is beautiful, affectionate, playful, and full of personality. She has adjusted wonderfully and already feels like part of our family. Most importantly, our experience with Nicole helped restore our confidence after a painful previous experience and the loss of a dog we loved deeply. We are incredibly grateful that Nicole entrusted us with Pepper and would absolutely recommend Nicole and Bullgodz to anyone looking for a well-loved and well-cared-for English bulldog puppy. Now, if we could just convince Nicole to add a few more dogs to her home so she could breed us a “Salt” to go with our Pepper… 😉
